I try to everyday to just sit and watch people. Not with the intent of evil things. Not with anything perferted in mind. Rather to view their behaviors – what are they truly doing. I find this particular interesting especially those individuals who feel they need to “act cool” – that always makes me laugh. “COOL” – who thought of that? I mean really. Yes, I know everyone tries to be cool at one time in their life – if not all through their life. However, I have come to the realization that no matter what it is that cool is a state of mind. Its not really a word. Its like feeling Gods grace and trying to put a word to it. Or finding out you can squeeze into those tight jeans that were 2 sizes too small last summer. Or being able to have the courage to ask your boss for a raise and without argument gives it to you. Or that hot girl/boy in class/bar/etc that you would never think give you the time of day yet when you ask them for their number they give it to with a warm smile. Those feeling cannot be described – Happy, excited…great words but nothing can truly express your feelings at that moment in your life. This is why I find it REALLY funny when young adults (16-21+) trying to be something that is only found within. So what is cool? Cool is being good inside. Plain and simple. How else would you explain it? Yes, some will argue that cool is trying to impress people and you recieve a label, however those people will mean nothing to you in a matter of years. Cool? Cool is nothing. Cool is not cool. Not trying to be cool…well, thats not even possible. Of course this is just one mans opionion on one thing that I like to look for. I strongly suggest it. At work – watch your co-workers interact with each other. Instead of getting involved with the conversation just oberserve and you will very quickly find the individual that is doing nothing but acting to for the sake of being labeled cool. Once you realize this – TRY to hide the chuckle, because trust me you will want to laugh as soon as you see it. Is this going to be my blog – just a Dear Diary? YES & NO.
