Weekend Wrap-Up

This memorial weekend had to be the best for myself. I was able to somehow disconnect my laptop away from my fingers and spend some high quality time with my lovely wife and hilarious 3 year old son. I had all these ideas prior to the “mini-vacation” to have post running while I was out…but why? Readers need a time off as do writers.

Over the weekend we traveled up north about an hour to a popular zoo and spent all day there. Not a few hours and only saw “most” of the animals. We saw every-little-thing. By the end of the day our feet were killing us but we had so much fun. Afterwards we checked into The Hyatt Place and I have to admit it was pretty nice. Reminded me of a hotel in New York that was very modern. Even though the pool wasn’t open it was great.

In fact the hotel was within walking distances to some great eateries and even a movie theater. So we walked to dinner and back to the hotel to sleep. We were busted up but laughed at the pain.

The next day we went to a mall (Eastown) where everything is pretty much laid out outside. Nice stores and the cleanliness is huge there. We spent just about the whole day there from doing little shopping to playing in the various water fountains they have for kids. While there I was able to find ProBlogger’s new book and really haven’t been able to put it down. I’d sneak in 10-25 pages here and there and should be able to finish it up tonight or tomorrow.

The last day was to relax and head home.

Not a bad weekend. Spending quality time with family and able to get the book I’ve been searching for and have been hesitant to buy on Amazon. Nothing against Amazon – I’m just the type of person who likes to buy a book and have it in my hand. Later this week I’ll be having a write-up on the book but so far it is terrific. Going from the basic start-up to asking yourself some great questions on your niche and how/when to write. It got me thinking on another project I’m working on that I’m getting ready to redevelop.

Anywho that was my weekend – hope you all had a blast and didn’t spend to much twittering, blogging, and or tweaking 404 pages.
