Comparing and Contrasting
As the year is coming close to ending I’ve done a lot of searching – but soul wise and business wise. In both aspects I can honestly say I’m a better person. I’m not saying this to make myself “look good” to those that read this rather to show where I was and where I’m at. In the past 11 months I’ve mentioned my trials and tribulations in life. Some things have been kept out for obvious reasons but nonetheless there has been progression and even when I didn’t think there was. I find myself wanting to attend church more to learn more about Jesus and his teachings. Not because I’m a “bible thumper” but because his teachings apply to everyday life. While I am proud to say I am a Christian I will be the last to point a finger at anyone in life. I would hope that instead of pointing I would be helping. Since I’m out of the military I learned that I need to do this more. As much as I loved the sense of ‘brotherhood’ in the Air Force I found it was the feeling of making a difference. No, I wasn’t on the front lines or anything like that – I don’t pretend like I was (those individuals get my highest respect). What I can say is though that I did numerous things to help build morale not just in the unit but in the wing (over 2,000 people) by being apart of a committee for what was called a “Wing-Dinning In”. While I did this over a year ago I was able to make contacts with higher up officials I never thought I could talk candidly with. Moving past this I’ve also learned about the business world a little more as I became a legalized entity Driven Media Group LLC. While for some reason I get junk mail for Driven Medical Group is beyond me. I will say for those out there that read this and want to be an LLC – get ready for some BIG junk mail. While I’ve been working in the ‘office space’ type environment for over 5 years now being a limited liability company has shown me some peoples true colors. Yet, it has given me a purpose to excel even further. The reason behind this is just for the simple fact of I’m putting effort into something that was a dream at one time. A dream that in all honesty I never thought would come to fruition. Yet its over a 2,000% increase over the year and more than anything the notes I receive from artist and fans alike mean more to me than anything else. So, why title it “comparing and contrasting” – well as I mentioned I’m doing a little stock in my life and business. I touched on life already and real quick I’ll touch on business. HipHopRemix has grown as you can see and I’ve talked about my secondary project for ChristRoom. Yet, in both while I’ve compared my business model to others I feel like I actually have a fighting chance. Competition is good and without we wouldn’t be able to find our limits or even come up with ideas. From cd players to iPods – gasoline to hybrid – etc…the list is endless and hopefully you get my point. I’ve talked with several people involved with other sites like that of HipHopRemix and even writers that used to worth with me that went on their own way. In doing these I’ve found what works and what doesn’t. I’m not the best CEO and don’t claim to be yet I know after seeing an episode on 60 Minutes about the new generation work force. I can say I’m getting to place that I like…in all aspects of life
